Unsaturated Polyester Color Pastes

UP series is specifically engineered to match the quality standard of leading British LR color pastes. We use the same class of premium imported organic pigments (BASF, Clariant, DIC, LANXESS) and a heat-resistant polyester resin carrier, delivering comparable color strength, weather resistance, and dispersion quality for gel coat and profile applications.

UP series is optimized for unsaturated polyester systems including gel coats (marine, sanitaryware, architectural), pultruded profiles, FRP/GRP composites, carbon fiber and aramid fiber composites, water-based coatings, high-temperature stoving enamels, high-temperature pressure-sensitive adhesives, electronic coatings, and screen printing inks.

Chrome yellow pigments contain lead chromate, which poses environmental and health concerns. We have replaced both chrome yellow grades with eco-friendly alternatives including bismuth vanadate yellow (P.Y.184) and high-performance organic yellows, maintaining color performance while achieving full compliance with RoHS 2.0, REACH and SGS EN71-19.

UP uses premium imported pigments from leading global manufacturers: BASF (reds, golden yellow), Clariant (medium yellow, halogen-free violet), DIC Japan (peach red, permanent violet), LANXESS Germany (iron oxides), Cabot (carbon black), DuPont (titanium white), Toyo Ink Japan (halogen-free red), First Color Korea (rose red), and Holliday France (ultramarine blue).

Weather resistance varies by grade: inorganic iron oxide grades offer 10+ years; high-performance organic grades (UP805 golden yellow, UP827 bordeaux, UP831 blue, UP833 green) offer 5+ years; standard organic grades offer 2-3+ years outdoor. All grades are suitable for outdoor gel coat and profile applications.

Yes, UP series is chrome-yellow-free, heavy-metal-free in selected grades, and passes SGS (EN71-19), RoHS 2.0, and REACH 179 SVHC (substances of very high concern) testing. Halogen-free options are available for food-contact and environmentally sensitive applications.
